Damien Aribert

Bio

Born in 1981, Damien ARIBERT began studying classical guitar at the age of 7 with Evelyne Lacheret then Brigitte Repiton. In 2000, he entered the National School of Music and Dance (ENMD) in Romans sur Isère in the class of Gilles Gogniat where he obtained the Diploma of Musical Studies (DEM). Damien Aribert recorded his CD "Destinations" in 2014 at the studio "La Buissonne", known among other things for its acoustic qualities.  He won the 1st Prize in the InterArtia International Competition, in the category "Classical Guitar" for all of his work, the 1st Prize in the Greek International Composition Competition "Kithara" with his bossa-nova "Nin-Nin" which was published the same year in the American magazine "Classical guitar", and was elected "International Artist of the Year 2017" in classical guitar and in musical composition, by "International Art Society", as part of the 35th International Guitar Festival of Volos in Greece. Damien Aribert teaches classical guitar at the Ecole de Musique Intercommunale d'Avranches-Mont Saint Michel in Lower Normandy, and plays on the guitars of the Luthier Vauclusien Renaud Galabert.
